Jackie and Her Golden Retriever- Odie
Jackie is a Florida native who grew up in Tampa and moved to Fort Lauderdale in 2018. At the age of sixteen Jackie got her first dog, a golden retriever named Circe who sparked a life-long obsession with canines. After losing her beloved pet to cancer she pursued a career in dog training to help other owners and dogs bond the way she had with Circe.

Jackie has been training dogs since 2015 and can not imagine doing anything else. Her greatest joy is helping improve the lives of both owner’s and their pets as well as the bond between them. She understands how frustrating life can be when our dogs are not as well behaved as we would like them to be. No behavioral issue is too big (or too small) to see results after just a couple of weeks in the New Habits program.

In 2016 Jackie got her father an Australian Shepherd named Casey. She helped her father train her to service dog level. Casey is now capable of picking up objects for her father, opening and closing the refrigerator and of course, receiving belly rubs.

In 2017 Jackie inherited two more dogs from her late mother, her 14 year old Cocker Spaniel, Bella who passed in 2022 and her (now) 7 year old Golden Retriever, Odie. Odie was a particularly hard to handle dog. At one year old he weighed 65lbs and had more energy than he knew what to do with. He pulled, jumped, grabbed food from counter tops and attempted to chew the base boards of their home. Through training Odie learned to control those impulses and is now an incredibly well behaved companion. You can frequently spot Odie and Jackie together on their time off at various dog-friendly restaurants/events as they do everything they can together in their free time.
